Sedation Dentistry - located in League City and Galveston, Tx, our dentists at Today's Dentistry make it their goal to give you the most relaxed and comfortable dental experience we can. Once you've experienced sedation dentistry also known as sleep dentistry with our doctors, you'll never be afraid to go to the dentist again. You'll be sedated just enough to be unaware of the treatment, as if you were snoozing. You'll wake up refreshed, with little or no memory or what was accomplished. More involved dental treatments that demand six to eight appointments, can be done in as little as one! All while you snooze. Because you are completely comfortable, we can do years of dental treatment in one or two visits. We can replace crowns or dentures, restore sore gums to good health, whiten yellow or stained teeth, fix chipped teeth, and fill cavities restoring your teeth to a beautiful white smile. People with busy schedules can get the dental care they need, easily and quickly. Imagine being able to smile with confidence and chew your food without pain. No wonder so many patients say, "Sedation dentistry changed my life!"

People who have the following will benefit from sedation dentistry:

  • High fear
  • A history of traumatic dental experiences
  • Very sensitive teeth
  • Limited time to complete dental procedures
  • Hate needles and shots
  • Hate the noises, smells and tastes associated with dentistry
  • Are afraid or embarrassed about their teeth

Whether you receive IV Sedation or Oral Conscious Sedation, upon your arrival for your dental appointment, you will be immediately escorted to the dental treatment area and seated in the dental chair. Before you appointment you will have been informed not to eat or drink anything 12 hours before your procedure. If you would like to hear some soothing, relaxing music, a CD player with headset, is available. Tinted glasses will be used to keep the bright light out of your eyes, and for protection. If you feel cold, you will be covered with a blanket. A small pillow is available for the small of your back. It is our desire that you are fully relaxed and comfortable before, during and after your dental appointment. You will be fully monitored on vital signs by state of the art monitoring technology during your sedation. There will be no analgesic or pain relieving qualities provided by oral sedatives. Local anesthetics will be used to prevent pain. Because you are so relaxed, and because of the use of painless injection techniques, you will probably not remember when you teeth were actually being "numbed." When your treatment is completed, your friend or relative will drive you home, where you can climb into bed for a soothing, relaxing nap. When you are fully awake, you will feel comfortable, relaxed and free from stress. You will probably remember very little about your wonderful, relaxing, dental experience. You should not operate a motor vehicle for 24 hours after receiving Oral Conscious Sedation or IV Sedation.

Today's Dentistry also offers IV Sedation and three of our four doctors are certified In IV Sedation technology. IV Sedation is normally used in surgical procedures such as Wisdom Teeth Removal, Bone and Soft Tissue Grafts, and Dental Implants. Dr. Carroll has been successfully offering Sedation Dentistry for the Last 23 years.
